This year's event will be the eighth fixture of the Diamond League Series and the first in the UK. At what is just over halfway through the series,

The glamour of athletics’ prestigious Diamond League heads to the North East for the first time as many of the world’s finest athletes line up for the Aviva British Grand Prix at the Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday 10 July, just two weeks before the European Championships in Spain.

While the Brits will be fine tuning their performances ahead of the Europeans, some may also be looking to stay in the hunt for the ‘IAAF Diamond Race’. The world’s best will be in Gateshead, will you?
